This project transforms a former mechanics workshop into a contemporary hair salon in Melbourne’s inner west. 

A deliberate and considered effort to retain the gritty industrial layers of the original building is in recognition of the area’s working-class history with the dark, inky palette being directly informed by the grease drenched brickwork and the oil-stained concrete floors of the existing shell.
